We didn't plan any of this.
Nala did.
She's a Black German Shepherd with a big personality and zero apologies. She's also the reason RNRK9 exists.
How it started
When we brought Nala home, we thought we knew what we were getting into. We did not.
Working line dogs have a way of humbling you fast — biting things she shouldn't, barking at everything, and running the house like she owned it. (She did.) It was a lot. It was also kind of incredible.
We reached out to a local trainer. That one decision changed everything. We found a PSA club, fell hard for the sport, and discovered something we didn't expect — a community of people who completely got it. People who understood the chaos, the challenge, and the absolute joy of working with a dog like that.
RNRK9 grew out of that world. Built by people in it, for people in it.

Ryan, Nala & Rebecca
Ryan
Co-founder. Handler. The one who thought getting a working line dog was a good idea. Still stands by that call.
Nala
Black German Shepherd. Chief of opinions. Founding inspiration. Still an asshole — but our asshole, and we wouldn't have it any other way.
Rebecca
Co-founder. Loves Nala and is the actual reason this business runs. Keeps Ryan in line and gets things done. The backbone of RNRK9 — whether she'd admit it or not.
"We're still learning, still growing, and Nala is still an asshole. Some things don't change — and that's exactly how we like it."
We built RNRK9 because we saw the gaps. Gear that wasn't made for real handlers. Equipment that didn't hold up. Not enough Canadian options that actually worked. So we started solving them — one product at a time, shaped by the community around us.
